Come visit our award-winning bistro and dine from a seasonal menu selected by our head Chef Giovanni (Vanni) Cologni. 

Our steaks are aged in-house and we source our produce from local gamekeepers, organic growers, local potato farmers, cheese makers, olive groves and Chef Vanni even catches his own trout!

We bake our own bread and make our own ice creams and sorbets. Our dining options cater for everyone – for those who desire a hearty pub meal to those that are looking for something a little special and adventurous.

We have something to please the entire family.

We have an extensive wine list which is sourced from local vineyards in the surrounding area – award winning wines from Harcourt Valley, Black Jack and Bress vineyards.

Our wines are served in beautiful glassware and we even have a stock of back vintages for those looking for something special!

Golden Plate Awards – The Railway Hotel has won Golden Plate Awards two years running. The latest Award was in the ‘Value for Money’ category after being nominated in five categories. We were pleased to be have since been nominated.

The food was inspired by our Chef Vanni who was born in Italy and inspired by his mother’s cooking and the fresh foods on his grandfather’s farm.

He has a passion for cooking and is looking forward to bringing his unique flavours and dishes to add to the favourites already of our popular and varied menu.

Vanni grew up on his grandfather’s farm in Ponte San Pietra, a small town near Bergamo, Italy. He started cooking as a young kid and at the age of 14, he started cooking for customers during town festivals during the summer months. He then progressed to working in at the family pizzeria restaurant on weekends before embarking on an exciting journey to Australia where Vanni studied in the culinary arts and honed his skills. Vanni has many fresh delights waiting to tempt your tastebuds.
